What makes your love advice different?

September 16, 2009

In my best selling book HOW TO BE HAPPY DAMMIT I offered many insights into how to snag happier love. My new book PRINCE HARMING SYNDROME goes into greater depth — explaining how to FINALLY break free from limiting love beliefs and those (b)lame excuses for why you’re not as happy as you desire and deserve in love!  PRINCE HARMING SYNDROME offers a new strategy for successful love relationships — based on the ancient Greek philosophy of Aristotle – merged with cutting edge modern cognitive therapy — delivered with feisty humor.  Jon Stewart of THE DAILY SHOW says: “Salmansohn has the soul of a stand up comic. The battle of the sexes has a brave new gladiator!”

Turning Into Your Dad

September 3, 2009

Every young man dreads the day that he wakes up and looks, acts, THINKS like his father. Well, every girl dreads the day she emulates her mother, but I think it’s different with guys. Guys know it is coming, and sink into a unchallenged submission when it finally happens.  Instead of railing against it, they tend to shrug and let the inevitability wash over them.

But what about everyone else? There are bound to be people in our lives who care a bit more about our paternal transformation. What if it’s our significant others or spouses? What if they are really disappointed in what we’ve become? They dated us as young hip bachelors and watched us morph into old, fat . . . non-hip committed men.

Maybe that is it: commitment. Maybe “cool” and “hot” or evolutionary necessities to help us get the partner and reproduce. Maybe once that’s done, once our “duty” is accomplished, we “die” like bees who have released their stingers in successfully protecting the hive.

Have you lost your stinger? Are you still holding onto it tightly?

Getonthecouch.com: The Book

August 28, 2009

Hey. There’s a book available on Amazon.com that presents the best of our early essays. The best part about the book, though, is that it includes emailed questions and answers from our loyal and dedicated members.  If you want to take a sneak peak into the book, please check it out at http://www.getonthecouchthebook.com/

Enjoy. Maybe you can be a part of the next volume of Getonthecouch.com: The Book.

What is “Platonic,” Anyway?

August 27, 2009

I remember hearing Chris Rock say that a Platonic friend is just a friend you haven’t slept with YET. I think many people share this sentiment. However, I have platonic friends of the opposite sex who I do not want to sleep with, so I assume there must be other people in the same situation.

I think many people believe sex among friends of the opposite sex is inevitable. Some people actually fear this. To get a better idea of what I mean, check out this article at www.getonthecouch.com: http://www.getonthecouch.com/relationshipadvice/articles/91-My-Platonic-Wants-Romantic

For the guys…

August 18, 2009

Are you feeling like you’re losing all your friends because of your relationship? Putting your girlfriend ahead of most things is fine, but we all need friends to rely on. We need our buddies to go out drinking with, and our buddies to talk about guy stuff with.
Some guys have trouble separating their relationship-life with their personal-guy-relationship-life. Some say that when you combine the two, the world will end… so, what that means is we must learn to keep the two separate and equal.
Luckily the writers at GetOnTheCouch.com have an informative article about what to do when you’re losing your friends due to your relationship. Even if you have plenty of guy friends, it’ll teach you how not to fall into that lonely trap.
